Lies-‘The gone series’ by Michael Grant
Now that the’Hunger,’ so to speak is over, Perdido Beach has bigger more important problems like introducing and enforcing ‘fair’ laws. Which is a far bigger task than was originally presumed, especially as ‘fair’ has a different meaning for everyone. Lies hold sway over all, especially those given the task of ruling the Fayz. Those chosen for such a task are having problems discerning between what is right and what needs to be done, which brought them to the dilemma, should Sam have free enforcement of law? With no chains on his actions? Who would be to blame if something were to go wrong? So many unanswered questions, with no rules to define the answers, people knew the Fayz was a crazy place where logic didn’t apply, but the dead walking among the living? Surely that is a step too far, even for the Fayz. But when mud splattered Brittney, literally crawls out of her grave, and with increasing sightings of a shadow of a boy with an arm like that of a snake, the whole town would erupt into chaos if it weren’t for the Town Council keeping that and therefore kids safety under lock and key, or would they? The time is coming, the pieces falling into place, the question is which pawn seems expendable and which one really is?
Teen Rating: More of the same from Grant, why not mix it up a little. But none the less, still a great read. 3/5 13+
