The Test by Brian O’Driscoll
Brian O’Driscoll is the greatest Irish rugby player of all time and one of the greatest players the world has ever known. During his fifteen year career he won 133 caps for his country and 8 lions caps. For a period he was the most capped rugby player of all time and remains the most capped Irish player. He won three Heineken cups with Leinster a grandslam for Ireland and two six nations championships. Brian grew up in a non-rugby playing family in Clontarf despite the fact that his father played for Ireland at senior level. Brian was introduced to rugby at Blackrock college at the age of 13. Where he played his first ever match as a second row for the Cs of all places and the rest as they say is history.
Brian O’Driscoll is an inspiration to every Irish rugby playing child under the sun and is a legend already despite the fact that he has only been retired for three years. His book was thoroughly enjoyable. I personally love sporting biographies as it allows me to see deeper into the minds of these gods on earth who people only really see through one side of a TV screen every week. This book is a true inset into the mindset of the greatest Irish player alive and to ever have lived. This book is a must read for anyone with an interest in rugby especially those who wish to follow in the footsteps of the great man.
