Set in the late 1800s, young Sherlock Holmes is a remake of the Classic Arthur Conan Doyle series that is adored by many.
Sherlock Holmes is a young man who has been dropped off at the house of his aunt and uncle for the duration of the summer. Sherlock having prepared himself for a boring weekend discovers a bloated body with a yellow powder. Then he meets Amyus Crowe: an American, tutor with unorthodox methods. He also meets Mattie, a street urchin who witnessed a murder which resulted in the body of the victim becoming bloated, like Sherlock’s victim. Sherlock is then sent on a hunt for an ingenious murderer who will stop at nothing to remain hidden.
This book is a good book, it is based on a story that we all know and love. As is the case with young Bond it does not detract from the original Sherlock Holmes books. It was an interesting read and one that was quite pleasant.
Teen Rating: An interesting read that was lacking in a lot of areas.
