Life, the universe and everything by Douglas Adams
The third book in the ‘Hitch-hikers guide to the galaxy’ series. Arthur and his alien ‘friend’ Ford, are still trapped on a prehistoric earth, with the idiots who killed our ancestors. Arthur and Ford have been wanting to get off the planet since they arrived, but spaceships are as rare as they were on the first earth, so that’s not an option. They waited years, had their arguments then went their separate ways. The story picks up when they come back together and form a plan to get off the rocky prison, we call home. They find an anomaly, and use it to hitch a lift away from earth, only , to Arthur’s delight and Ford’s despair, to arrive on the old earth two days before it’ll be demolished. Things don’t seem quite right here, is their something bigger going on?
Teen Rating: This book joins it’s predecessors reputation quite comfortably. 3/5 . 13+ .
