Meet Mickey: an American eighteen your old boy, who lives in a small town and is literally counting the days until graduation. Although this sounds pretty average for most eighteen year olds I haven’t even scratched the surface. His Mother is a local politician that seems to have no emotion what so ever, his Dad is an alchoholic, his sister actually died but pulled a Frankenstein so she is now breathing and living life and finally his gay best friend is the official god of cats.
Things have always been weird in this town, there were the waves of the undead, the gods and a bunch of other every day apocalyptically terrifying events. Although these events are pretty scary and some people die (a lot) they are normally saved by a bunch of indie kids who have no idea what the internet is. Now something big is happening something that Michael wants no part in after all: “Not everyone has to be the chosen one”
I have always loved Patrick Ness he just has a raw talent for bring original stories to us again and again. I have reviewed his work before but this is a lot less sporadic and less suspenseful than Chaos walking but that still makes it a joy to read I truly enjoyed this one and I hope other people will too.
TEEN RATING: Very good and surprisingly funny! 4/5 14+
