After a whole summer of bullying Aidan Flood decides that it is finally time to end his own life…. However, a local fisherman manages to talk Aidan out of his plan and Aidan is shocked to hear the following day that somebody actually went through with it..
After hearing that a local girl, home from college called Sláine has supposedly taken her own life, by crawling into the freezing,(haunted) shook woods to die of the unforgiving cold. Aidan feels compelled to investigate the death of poor Sláine and when he gets a message scratched into the ice on his widow reading I didn’t kill myself.. Aidan’s suspicions are more than confirmed. Now it is up to Aidan to solve Sláine’s murder and unravel the secrets of this dark town.
As a proud Irishman I always enjoy reading from Irish authors (especially when they are as good as this one) and this time I was not disappointed. I really connected with this book and I am looking forward to seeing what this new talent does next.
TEEN RATING: A very enticing horror book that just leaves you in a complete state of awe. 4/5 13+
