Billy D has Down’s syndrome and when he asks Dane to help him find his missing Dad using the cryptic clues left in his Atlas by his Dad. Dane says yes unaware of the path that it will lead them both down and that the answers that they seek may not be what they are looking for or what they want to hear. Told through the eyes of Dane the school bully who immediately writes Billy off as a messed up kid who he feels sorry for but after a while Dane realises that there is more to Billy than what meets the eye….Teen Rating: A thoroughly enjoyable book. 4/5 .13+
This book tells the story of four different kids from four completely different backgrounds who come together to figure out how to save their school from going bankrupt. After having gone to a mint for an arts tour these four students quickly realise that to save Harvard Friends some rules and laws may need to be broken. After realising a weak link in the Pennsylvania mint Alice a computer geek and occasional hacker decides to put her skills to good use in defrauding the American government. But when more people show up and decide to help out things get even more complicated. What started off as a mental exercise is now an actual operation…Told from a first person point of view with every chapter devoted to each person I believe this book is a must read for all. Teen Rating: A marvellous read with a storyline that is interesting yet not too hard to follow 3.5/5. 14+
The Maze Runner by James Dashner.
The first in a gripping trilogy the maze runner tells the story of Thomas and the Gladers (the inhabitants of a town which is surrounded by a giant maze who are all between the ages of 12-18). At one stage or another evey boy in the Glade has come through the elevator in to the Glade and Thomas is the latest even though the only thing he can remember is his name. Thomas knows something is up and realises that the only way to find out what it is, is to go into the maze…Teen Rating: A thrilling and exciting read 4.5/5 12+
